The company has launched a global #StopNuclearUkralypse campaign. We are looking for donors who will help finance Ukraine’s purchase of drones to monitor contamination due to the risk of destruction of civilian nuclear facilities and large chemical plants. One of the elements of the campaign is a public fundraiser. The campaign is an extension of activities carried out since the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to increase nuclear safety.
The topic is important for the future of millions of people living in Ukraine and Europe, as well as the future of the US and global economy. Bilateral trade and investment support millions of jobs in the EU and the US. Around 9.4 million people are directly employed. Indirectly, as many as 16 million jobs on both sides of the Atlantic are supported. Transatlantic trade reached an all-time high of 1.2 trillion euro in 2021, surpassing pre-pandemic levels by more than 10%. The United States remains the EU’s number one trading partner in services. Bilateral trade in services reached a record in 2021 and accounted for more than 500 billion euro.
ASEAN as a whole represents the EU’s 3rd largest trading partner outside Europe (after China and the US) with more than €215.9 billion of trade in goods in 2021. Bilateral trade in services amounted to €93.5 billion in 2019. The EU is by far the largest investor in ASEAN countries. In 2019, the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) stocks into ASEAN accounted for €313.6 billion. Although a more recent phenomenon, ASEAN investment in Europe has also been growing steadily and impressively to a total stock of over €144 billion in 2019.
Contamination of Europe will be a catastrophe not only for Ukraine, but also the global economy and we want to prevent it.
